Overview
OrignIQ overview
OrignIQ reads public records about layoffs and visa filings, tells your firm which events in your territory are likely to produce clients, and drafts the pages and ads — under your firm’s name — through which affected workers find you.
01What OrignIQ does
- 1Watches sourcesWARN notices in California, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, and Maryland’s federal RIF log, read every morning. DOL LCA and PERM disclosure data and the USCIS H-1B employer hub, imported each quarter. Planned: New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida WARN; NLRB, SEC 8-K and federal contract awards for Business Outreach.OrignIQ
- 2Assesses eventsEach filing becomes a demand event, scored 0–100 for your firm’s practice — volume, fit, urgency — with every reason cited to the record it came from.OrignIQ
- 3Drafts for your firmA brief every Monday morning, event pages and ads, all under your firm’s name.OrignIQ

02Key terms
These terms are used throughout the docs, the dashboard and the brief.
- Signal
signal - A single public record: one WARN notice, one certified LCA case, one row of the USCIS hub. Every record keeps a link to its source.
- Demand event
demand_event - One employer’s notices in one metro whose dates chain together. Events are what OrignIQ scores, and what pages are about.
- Territory
territory - One metro × one practice area. The Bay Area for employee-side employment is one territory.
- Event page
event_page - A page under your firm’s name about a specific demand event, with the dates, what workers should know, and one intake form.
- Brief
brief - The weekly demand brief for your territory, sent Monday mornings: a summary, the three to watch, and the deadlines ahead. Internal to your firm.
- H-1B exposure
h1b_exposure - Whether the employer’s certified LCA worksites fall in the event’s own metro: likely, possible (sponsors, but no worksite there on record), none, or not researched. From DOL and USCIS data; filings and petitions, never people.
- Target company
target_company - Planned, for Business Outreach: a filer that issued notice, or an absorber likely to hire the affected workers.
03What a demand event looks like
Every event in the dashboard and the brief has the same shape. The assessment is your firm’s — the same event scores differently for an immigration practice than for an employment one — and each claim in it cites a record. API access for firms is planned; today the feed is the dashboard and the brief.

}04What OrignIQ does not do
- It never contacts people affected by a layoff, by any channel.
- It does not pick a firm for anyone or pass a person’s details between firms. Comitie is not a lawyer referral service.
- It does not charge per lead, per inquiry or per case.
- It does not publish anything your firm hasn’t approved.
Responsibility
Your firm is responsible for its advertising. OrignIQ drafts and checks; your firm approves. See Compliance.
05Next steps
- Getting started (coming soon): choose territories, set practice areas, and connect Lawmatics or Clio.
- Event pages: anatomy, drafting, approvals and the disclosures by state.
- Compliance: the two gates, what is blocked, how each state is handled today.
- Signals and sources (coming soon): what we read, how often, and how it’s cited.
